Through a long-term partnership with JCHC, DIG has helped create renewed assisted, independent living and memory care facilities for the Jewish community in both South Orange and Whippany, NJ. The alterations to Heller Independent Living and Weston Assisted Living provide modern, accessible amenities to the residents and support a greater sense of community. DIG partnered with JCHC and the Lester Senior Living management to update the amenity offerings on both the 1st and 2nd floors of their established assisted living and independent living communities. Alterations to the 1st-floor area aim to create a more interactive environment for residents, includeing a café, a reading room, and a refurbished dining room. A new theater with tiered seating on the 2nd floor to enhance resident the movie-viewing experience equipped with THX-quality surround sound, a marquee, and concession area. The renovation also introduces improved access to the rear courtyard of the building, allowing residents to enjoy outdoor spaces with greater ease. Additional services included environmental graphic concepts for inclusion in grant applications, resident presentations, and marketing content. This marks DIG’s second project for JCHC at this site. In 2019, DIG renovated the Weston Assisted Living wing, transforming an entire floor into a self-contained Memory Care Unit. This unit features 12 apartments, a nursing station, a dining room and lounge, a quiet room, and dedicated outdoor space for residents. Both projects enhance Lester Senior Living’s offerings as a full-service, multi-level care facility. Both renovations breathe new life into the facility, as well as draw interest for potential new residents to this 30-year-old community.
